Dr. Hesham Adel Sadeq
Our Inspiration - Forever in Our Hearts
Many years after his passing, Dr. Sadeq remains one of Egypt’s top mental health pioneers whose impactful career has not only changed countless lives but has in fact battled the social stigmas surrounding mental disorders in Egypt and the Arab world.
Thanks to his legendary father, the late Dr. Adel Sadeq, Dr. Hesham took on his mission of raising awareness about psychiatric disorders and empowering the mentally ill of all ages with the latest evidence-based treatment advancements in the field as well as an in-depth understanding of their individualistic journeys in life and giving focus to that in their course of treatment (humanistic psychological approach).
His legacy continues to stand strong through the cured lives and goodness he has left behind, his human-centered teachings to psychiatry specialists and pillars including Dr. Nahla Khalil, and — with great pride — through all of us at Soulful.
Our Inspirations
Originating in Japan, ‘Kintsugi’ is a form of conceptual art consisting of mending broken pottery pieces back together with gold — a metaphor for embracing and celebrating human flaws, life missteps, and imperfections. In essence, Kintsugi branches from the ancient Japanese philosophy 'Wabi-sabi' which promotes the concept of accepting changes, failures, and simplicity as a representation of actual, real-life beauty.
This exact concept is one of our paramount pillars of operation at Soulful and what truly differentiates our professional practices as a full-on team of accredited psychiatrists. We firmly believe and uphold the idea of restoring broken pieces to create something unique and fascinating, and find it an inspiring way of looking at the world, rediscovering ourselves and cherishing our life paths.

Ancient Japanese Philosophy
Humanistic psychology is a powerful, holistic perspective in psychology that prioritizes looking at the whole human being and the uniqueness of each individual in terms of original ‘built-in’ traits and characteristics, life journey, struggles and surroundings.

Frequently Asked Questions
FAQs
In individual therapy, the therapist devotes the "therapy hour" to their patient, providing a safe and supportive space for them to work through challenges. Although sessions usually last 40-50 minutes, longer sessions may be recommended depending on the patient's needs. The therapist works collaboratively with the patient to ensure they receive the highest quality care.
How long is each of my therapy session?
At Soulful clinics, we believe in the importance of a nurturing and supportive environment for healing. While we typically recommend therapy sessions every one to two weeks, we understand that each client's journey is unique. The frequency of sessions may vary based on the issues at hand and the type of therapy used. We encourage our clients to take the necessary time between sessions to reflect and process what has been discussed, as we believe this is where true healing can occur.
What is the recommended frequency of therapy sessions?
We take great pride in offering personalized therapy sessions tailored to each individual's unique needs. Therapy durations can vary from short-term to long-term, depending on the client's needs and the timing of their journey. We're also proud to provide a range of services, including single-session therapy and very brief therapy, to meet our clients' needs. We understand that the timing of therapy can be crucial and that it is important to start the journey when the time is right for the individual.
How long is my therapeutic journey at Soulful?
We firmly believe in (and apply) a holistic approach to healing and understand that medication may or may not be appropriate for certain individuals. We do not consider medication to be a first-line option in our therapy process. Our goal is to work with our clients to explore and address the underlying issues that may be contributing to their symptoms. However, if medication is deemed necessary, we work closely with our clients to ensure that it is well managed and monitored.
